Long-distance move from Stafford, VA to Howey In The Hills, FL

AVOID 3 BROTHERS MOVERS AND UNITED SPEED MOVERS AT ALL COSTS!

Entire review posted online

If you value your sanity, finances, and belongings, do NOT use 3 Brothers Movers or United Speed Movers. My experience with these companies was an absolute nightmare—marked by deception, unethical practices, and a complete disregard for customer rights. It’s time for action, and I strongly believe a class-action lawsuit must be pursued immediately.

1. Deceptive Quoting and Inflated Costs

I was initially quoted $8,230 by 3 Brothers Movers for my move. However, once my belongings were packed and loaded onto their truck, I was hit with an inflated total of $20,746, almost TRIPLE the original quote. M

When I protested and requested that they leave my items behind, they refused, stating they can’t take the items off the truck and left with my things anyway. I was forced to proceed under duress, fearing I might never see my belongings again.

2. Manipulative Payment Practices

I attempted to pay with my American Express card, but they falsely claimed they don’t accept AmEx, stating they only accept wire transfers, cash, or checks. When I explained that AmEx was my only form of payment, they suddenly “remembered” they could accept Visa and MasterCard. This manipulative and chaotic payment process left me feeling confused and powerless.

3. Mismanagement and Holding My Items Hostage

On September 16, 2024, my belongings were taken from Virginia to New Jersey—a state I never authorized—before eventually being sent to Florida. I didn’t even know my items had been routed to New Jersey until days later, and I was never informed or asked for permission.

I filed complaints with several agencies, including the Better Business Bureau (BBB), on September 17, 2024. That same day, I also filed complaints with:

• Florida Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)

• Florida Department of Agricultural and Consumer Services (FDACS)

• US Department of Transportation

• State Attorney’s Office

Despite my efforts, 3 Brothers Movers ignored my complaints. The only communication I received was an email on September 18, 2024, stating they had discovered a discrepancy and would contact the carrier to resolve it. That “resolution” never happened, and my items weren’t delivered until October 3, 2024—nearly three weeks late.

Communication with United speed movers who said that there was a discrepancy and deducted $1800 from the balance leaving me to pay $18,646 still and inflated price.

4. Stolen, Missing, Damaged, and Destroyed Items

When my belongings finally arrived, the condition of my items was appalling. Several items were stolen, missing, damaged, or destroyed due to their careless handling and poor packing practices.

• Stolen Items: I filed a police report for stolen items, including those I had receipts for.

• Damaged Items: Many of my belongings were broken or mishandled.

• Destroyed Items: Products that I carefully packed melted during transit, leaking and seeping through the boxes. Oils tumbled over and soaked into other items, causing irreparable damage.

• Missing Items: Some of my most valuable belongings were unaccounted for, and I was never provided with an explanation.

The blatant disregard for my property demonstrated by these companies is unforgivable. I also notified the State Attorney’s Office about the stolen and mishandled items as part of my complaints.

5. Inadequate Response and Mockery of Compensation

7. Call for a Class-Action Lawsuit

There are countless families and individuals who have been deceived, mistreated, and financially exploited by these companies. It’s heartbreaking to know this behavior continues unchecked.

We must stand together to demand accountability and justice. If you’ve been a victim of 3 Brothers Movers or United Speed Movers, I urge you to come forward. Together, we can file a class-action lawsuit to stop this predatory behavior and ensure no one else suffers at their hands.

I refuse to be disregarded, diminished, or treated as if my voice doesn’t matter. We are stronger together, and we can take on these companies and win.

If you’re considering using 3 Brothers Movers or United Speed Movers, DON’T. They will lure you in with a low quote, inflate the price once your belongings are on the truck, and leave you to deal with delays, damaged items, stolen property, and outright lies. Their customer service is non-existent, and their practices are predatory.

I am currently speaking with consumer protection attorneys to pursue legal action. If you’ve had similar experiences, please join me in seeking justice. These companies must be stopped.

Save yourself the stress, financial loss, and emotional toll. Choose a reputable company that values its customers and operates with integrity. My experience with 3 Brothers Movers and United Speed Movers was a nightmare I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

Long-distance move from South Carolina to North Carolina

Excellent service and workers

While I was not pleased with 3 brothers we were very pleased with United speed movers and glad they were chosen for our move. The crew couldn’t have been kinder, careful and efficient. Moving my 90yr old mother from the home she loved was a challenge but they finished our packing and got it done in one long day!! 5 stars from us!!

With gratitude Welday/Poplin move

Long-distance move from Manchester, CT to Baytown, TX

No business should act this way.

I orignally was working with Navistar Van lines for my move. I did not know that they would bring in another company to preform the move itself. United Speed Movers were 3 days late on pick up and offered little to no communication. I had to reach out to Navistar to have their customer service reach out to United Speed Movers just so I could get an idea of when they would arrive. (Issue #1)

When the movers arrived my price was hiked an additional $3000.00. The reason being that the footage of the property was "over 700 cu ft". This was bologna. I measured and inventoried each item to go on the truck and the cu ft was barely at 300. Their argument was the way the truck had to be loaded. (Issue #2)

My move was from Manchester, CT to Baytown, TX and consisted of 73 individual items. They picked up our stuff on 5.15.22. I was told the property would be delivered on 5.20.22, but this did not transpire. Not only did they not arrive, NO ONE CALLED.(Issue#3) Again I had to call Navistar customer service, who then had to call the United Speed Movers dispatch, to then had to call the driver to get an ETA on the next arrival window. They said another 3-7 days, so we waited...and waited. Finally I called again. (5.27.22, a week later). After going through the Navistar phone tree once again I was told it would be ANOTHER 3 days before our property would be deliverd because the "truck broke down".I called United Speed Movers myself and asked for the drivers number for my own verification on the subject. I was given their location and was told that they were 3rd in line to be serviced and should be on the road in no time. The location was in Delware. [Keep in mind the move was coming from CT to TX and had been projected to arrive for over 2 weeks now, but they hadnt even made it across the mason dixion line.] I called the location where the driver said they were and spoke to the service head. He let me know there was NOT A MOVING truck at his facility, nor was there a line for service! I immediately called the driver to confornt him on his disception and he began SCREAMING AT ME then promptly hung up.(Issue#4) . I contacted the manager/supervisor/head of compay and let him know what happened. NO RESPONSE WAS GIVEN. (Issue#5)

At this point we are stuck and waiting for word from someone about our property. The time for the 3rd projected delivery date and I have received no word. AGAIN I call begging for information about my property. I was told Friday June 3rd for sure. Well that didnt happen.

Finally on Saturday, June 4th I get a call from a new number (I missed it, but they left a voice mail). This was a NEW DRIVER advising that he would be at our location the next day to deliver our stuff.

He told me he would be there before noon on 6.5.22. As time drew nearer I reached out for an ETA and was told 1:30 -__- (Issue#6)

Finally the truck arrives. The door opens and I was mortified. These people have no regard for their work or other peoples property. All of my boxes were crushed and damaged. (Issue#7) Things clearly noted as fragile were at the bottom of the pile in the box truck that was loaded all the way to the top. (Issue#8)Some of my boxes had WATER DAMAGE. (WTF?!)(Issue#9)

And once all was unloaded, SOME OF MY PROPERTY WAS MISSING (Issue#10)

I noted everything I could on the BOL and had the driver sign it. Now I am trying to file a claim and its like jumping through hoops.. :(

I have moved 8 times in 4 years and this experience was the worst; an absolute nightmare. I wish it on NO ONE. Not even my worst enemy.

Please take this as a warning. Do your due diligence and investigate! NEVER TRUST UNITED SPEED MOVERS or Navistar Van Lines!

Long-distance move from Cary, NC to Decatur, GA

Avoid at all costs.

United Speed Movers called 2 days before scheduled pickup and asked to pick up 1 day earlier - was verbally promised the same delivery window. Pickup went smoothly other than the workers were not aware that they were packing the entire 2-bdrm apartment, including the kitchen. They did not come with enough packing paper, and I had to buy it for them. They packers used the expensive boxes for clothes, and the lesser expensive boxes for the kitchen and other large heavy items. Despite being promised over the phone that personal check was ok, personal check was not accepted and the movers wouldn't leave until we paid cash. We argued with the broker (Long Distance Movers) and finally they agreed to the check but insisted that the items wouldn't be delivered without a cash payment at delivery. The delivery date was continually pushed for 5 business days, each day they promised a new date and time. Finally on the 5th day, the delivery team arrived 2 hours later than the delivery window promised. The driver had a crew of 3, that according to them was only contacted about the job 1 hour prior to arrival. 2 of the 3 workers left after 2 hours. Much of our stuff was damaged, dinged, and knicked. Our bed was reassembled improperly. The bill of landing had a discount added after it was signed - to give the appearance that we were given a discount should we ever have a dispute of some kind. We had to pay a substantial amount in cash upon delivery. We filed a damage claim, and United Speed Movers was to pay damages of $186, but has not paid yet (60+ days since receiving the ruling). Calls to United Speed Movers are rarely returned.. if the office happens to answer, the frequent response is "I was just about to call you.." You only talk to one person, the office manager Rachel - even when she promises that her boss will call you back, he doesn't. She won't give out his name or his contact info.

This is a very shady company that I would avoid using at all costs. This is been a 6 month nightmare from a move that cost us over $6K and should have only taken a few days.

Long-distance move from North Andover, MA to Boise, ID

Absolute fraudulent company

Thjs should be a negative star rating. This company should not be allowed to be in business. I went room by room, box by box, item by item was quoted and put my down payment. I then sold 2 couches, 2 recliners and when they packed up truck forced me into almost 200 added cubic feet. I paid more for this move cubic feet than I did my move a year earlier with way more items. Time frame changed 6 different times and driver was 4 hours away and some how took him 3 days to go 4 hours. They broke a 65 inch tv, limited edition Russell Wilson signed statue, numerous glasses and dishes, gouged my dining room table, broke a chair, gouged another chair, broke 2 dressers and a desk. I had over $5k in damages and they offered me a whopping $30.00!!!!! Then refused to respond to me. To top off those 3 absolute unprofessional things they also didn't unpack or build anything and I paid for full service. They put everythjng in my entry way and living room all taped up and boxed and left. Their guys even had to nerve to demand a tip.. this company owes me about $5k in damages and fraudulently over charged me too much and didn't even do the job they were paid to do. Please don't anyone use this company, they should be bankrupt or lose their moving license.
